Founding Date: International House Sydney – Teacher Training Centre was founded in 1999 with the delivery of its first CELTA (Certificate of English Language Teaching to Adults). The entry to teacher training followed 15 years of English language teaching to international students at International House Sydney – Manly.
Location: Located in the heart of Sydney within walking distance of Town Hall and Wynyard train stations, Circular quay, Darling Harbour, art galleries, shopping and entertainment.
School Capacity: As a specialist teacher training centre, our maximum number of students is 80 students undertaking part-time and full-time courses plus an additional 50 students undertaking intensive English language/teacher training courses during peak vacation periods.
Maximum Class Number: Our CELTA, Certificate IV in TESOL and DELTA courses have a teacher: student ratio of 1:6. Other courses have a maximum class size of 15-20.
Percentage: Our College is made up of Domestic students (native speakers from Australia, New Zealand, Britain, Ireland, and USA) and international students in a ratio of 70%-30%. Our international students have come from Brazil, Chna, Czech Republic, Ecuador, Germany, Hong King, Japan, Korea and Thailand. We are truly international.

Each classroom is equipped with overhead projectors and tape recorders. All TESOL training groups have access to a preparation room to prepare their English lessons. There is a breakout room for relaxing between classes. English for Teaching Younger Learners groups and Teacher Training Study Tours have access to Self Access materials via computers, internet access, listening facilities and a student library.
