Malaca Instituto key selling points (Master Class) |
|
|
 |
 |
With over 35 years¡¦ experience, Malaca Instituto is one of the longest established Spanish language schools
and has an enviable reputation within the language school sector.
Our older clients, many of whom choose to join Master Class, appreciate our programme for the following
specific reasons:
- The first 3rd Age programme: we were the first school in Spain to offer a edicated programme for
the 50+ age group, really attending to their needs and taking into account their interests and worries. The first programme was around 14 years ago and since then we have had around 3000 clients on
Master Class, gaining invaluable and unequalled experience.
- Mini-campus ¡V everything on-site (accommodation included!): this is crucial for this age group
who frequently would not feel comfortable living in someone else¡¦s home and above all appreciate
security, convenience, ease of access and comfort:
- 110 bedrooms: single, twin, triple and Executive, all with en-suite facilities
- direct dial telephones in the bedrooms for constant contact with home and our staff
- 24-hour-staffed reception: provides security and constant support and therefore promotes
confidence in their environment.
- 25 classrooms all with audio/visual facilities
- restaurant, bar, cinema, dance studio
- swimming pool
- 3 terraces (rooms for everyone to find their own space)
- Master Class textbooks: we have produced 4 levels of special textbooks for the Master Class
programme. The focus is different from the textbooks we use for our general courses. We concentrate
on developing communication skills in a series of specific areas drawn from daily life, rather than
teaching the complete language. It is most unusual to have a range of textbooks for a specific course of
this type and is very much appreciated by our clients.
- Special Activity programme: as Malaca Instituto has 2 full-time employees all year round working in
the activities department we are unusually well-resourced to provide a totally separate activities
programme for the Master Class clients. We organise events and mini-excursions that we know from
experience are of interest to this age group: museum visits, walking in the mountains, cookery classes,
visits to the market etc.
Total Quality: Malaca Instituto has an average ratio of 1 staff member for every 3.5 students. In the
non-summer period when the Master Class programme takes place we have an average of between 1-
2.5 and 1-3. We have 5 Director-level staff. This is extremely unusual and helps us in our aim towards
total quality. This means that your clients feel themselves extremely well-looked after.
- Quality guarantees: the inspections by EAQUALS, IALC, Instituto Cervantes and the University of
Alcala (CEELE) are the students guarantee of our high standards and that we do what we say we do in
our publicity literature.
- The City of Malaga: the dramatic changes that have occurred in Malaga over the last few years have
all helped to make it an even more attractive proposition to the 50+ age group:
- Pedestrianisation of the historic centre: traffic is now banned from many of the main
streets and winding alleys of the historic centre. Dozens of underground car parks have
taken most of the cars out of sight.
- City of Culture: the Picasso gallery, the CAC (contemporary art), Malaga Film Festival,
the Roman Amphitheatre (should be ready for theatre and opera from 2008), the
Alcazaba etc. Hardly surprising it is a candidate for European Capital of Culture 2016.
- Tapas bars: Malaga has thousands of bars, many providing delicious tapas. Great for an
evening stroll with like-minded friends.
- and much, much more.......!
Malaca Instituto - Much more than just a language school! |

Key selling points: Malaga, a city of Culture |
|
|
 |
 |
Climate: a Mediterranean climate - warm winters and hot (but not too hot!)
summers - perfect for sitting on a beach-front terrace, even in January and February
(on good days), and savouring those plates of seafood and sardines, washed down
with Rioja, beer or ¡§tinto de verano¡¨.
- People: open-hearted, fun-loving Andalucians, with a passion for music
and dance.
- Culture: the Alcazaba (Arab castle), Roman amphitheatre, Cathedral and the old
town provide plenty of historical interest. As Malaga is the birthplace of Picasso a
major, permanent Picasso gallery was opened in October 2003 followed shortly after
by 2 other important modern art galleries. Malaga¡¦s film festival is now challenging
the more established festivals around the world. It is no surprise to us that Malaga is a
candidate for European Capital of Culture 2016.
- Life style: a ¡§Mediterranean¡¨ life-style of sea-front bars, ¡§chiringuitos¡¨, beach
soccer and Voley-playa.
- Food: hundreds of city-centre tapas bars, wine bars and restaurants of all types help
to retain Malaga¡¦s totally Spanish atmosphere and flavour and serve a version of the
world famous ¡§Mediterranean cuisine¡¨.
- Theatre & Music: the Teatro Cervantes has regular theatre seasons, hosts the
Orchestra of Malaga, one of the best in Spain, and has major opera seasons each year.
You can see Flamenco music and dance, both in the school, in the street and in the
theatres and bars of Malaga. The Plaza de Toros plays host not only to bull fights but
also rock and pop concerts.
- Night life: fabulous night-life, famous throughout Europe, that tends to start at
midnight (only at the weekends for our serious students!)
- Sports: superb sports opportunities: tennis, diving lessons, golf, snow skiing (1.5 hours
from Malaga), jogging, soccer and more are easily arranged with our help.
-
Communications: with one of Europe¡¦s leading charter airports, Malaga is the hub
of Andalucia¡¦s modern motorway network - perfect for visits to the other great cities
such as Granada, Cordoba, Sevilla and Ronda and, of course, Morocco!
- Scenery: the combination of sea and mountain results in some spectacular scenery,
catering for all tastes: visits to the white-washed mountain villages (¡§pueblos
blancos¡¨) are amongst our most popular excursions.
Malaga is a totally Spanish city, rather than a city dedicated to the international tourist.
In Malaga you hear Spanish spoken, you eat Spanish food, you drink Spanish wine and
you listen to Spanish music ¡V all at Spanish prices - the real Spain!
